Our counselling service offers a space to be able to speak about your experience of sexual violence. We place a very high emphasis on confidentiality for all our counselling services.
All counsellors are fully trained, accredited psychotherapists with additional specialist training in the area of trauma and sexual violence.
Counselling involves an individual meeting with a Counsellor in a private environment to discuss their experience of sexual violence, examine their feelings around this and to understand how it has affected their life. All discussions between that individual and the Counsellor are confidential.
Counselling is free, one to one and completely confidential. Counselling can be long term or short term and is offered to women and men over the age of 14.
Throughout counselling you will be listened to, believed, supported and encouraged. You will be treated with understanding and respect at all times.
KASA offers a dedicated counselling and support service to adolescents aged 14+ who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives (For anyone under the age of 18 and wishing to avail of our services parental consent is required). Our counsellors are trained and have experience working with this particular age group. Support is also available to parents/guardians or anyone supporting a young person who has experienced sexual violence.

KASA acknowledges that males experience sexual violence and sexual abuse in their lives too. We offer a counselling and support service for male adult and adolescent (14+) survivors, of any sexual orientation who have experienced sexual abuse and sexual violence at any time in their lives. It is similar to that offered to female survivors, but because it is orientated towards men it endeavours to remove the taboo and isolation surrounding the issue.
KASA’s professional and experienced Counsellors are available to accompany you to the Doctor or the Gardaí. We can explain the procedures involved and offer support to those who need it.
We also support to clients who would like to be accompanied to Court in relation to their case and can assist in the drafting of Victim Impact Statements.
